The National Health Observatory (Marsad) on Health Data, Health Systems & Polices; supports and promotes evidence-based health & healthcare services insight and intelligence. Where by facilitating comprehensive analysis and reporting of the dynamics of health care and health services data in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Vision

A healthier KSA fulfilled by better public health and healthcare services and policies, founded on integrated high quality[1] data and decision support solution named Marsad.

Mission for Marsad

It is the mission of NHIC to establish Marasd as a centralized national health observatory that provides a combination of tools, health data sources, and automated processes that support planning, collaboration, monitoring, data lifecycle management, building policies and procedures, research and clinical decisions. Saudi council will inspire, motivate and facilitate co-ordination and co-operation among the 7 health agencies and relevant health service provider partners to help deliver their services better by providing an actionable integrated national view of health data.

The Saudi Health Council will also establish a set of programs that target a selected public health areas of interest. This involves mechanisms for data collection and analysis as well as the creation of reports and the presentation of recommendations to the national policy and decision makers

Objectives for Marsad

  1. Establish National health database contributing to provide accurate statistics, Health reports indicators, improving health situations and support research studies
  2. Works as a communication center for providing, regulating and exchanging of health information among health sectors and other relevant sectors
  3. Improve effectiveness and efficiency of health care services/delivery
  4. Identify health problems and improving health in the Kingdom based  on the results of research and national health registries data.
  5. Provide comprehensive statistics for national health strategic planning purposes.
  6. Provide tools to facilitate E Collaboration for better delivery of Marsad Services
  7. Extract knowledge from the data by building intelligent data driven tools
  8. Guarantee all privacy and confidentiality requirements throughout the data management lifecycle

Marsad-Architecture Landscape Assertion Kit

The Marsad Architecture Landscape – Assertion Kit serves three purposes, firstly to provide a context of Marsad and where it fits into the health care ecosystem of Saudi Arabia. Secondly it provides the architecture landscape of the solution and last but not the least to function as an assertion kit to validate and enforce the standard Architecture.
